Our house is located on the edge of an old fishing village
on the south-eastern peak of Istria.
With a distance of 12 km to Pula, the village Liznjan
lies aside any tourist centres with a free view onto the
Kvarner Bay and its islands.
You will find lonesome beaches, as well as the local bathing
beach, which is especially convenient for children, within 2 km.
Note:The Istrian coast as well as most of Croatia's coast is
rocky. Thus, rare shingle beaches are of high interest. To enjoy
the water and sun bathing, it is convenient to bring a bathing mat
and shoes.

Culinary pleasures can be experienced within walking distance from our residence.
Daily caught fresh fish as well as Istrian specialities are being offered in several local
restaurants (approx. 2-10 min by foot), One being our neightbour and friends
- the restaurant "Bak".
One special attraction in our village, is a local fisherman who offers a one day
excursion with his fishing boat (Length approx. 65 feet) from Liznjan to several
islands and beaches. Catering (barbecue, nonalcoholic and alcoholic drinks) is offered on board and is all
inclusive. Enrollment can be done at our caretaker "Nono" - Mr. Batel sr. ("Nono" ital. grandpa).
For boat owners, the local fishing harbor offers the possibility of parking your boat
at a fee of approx. 1 Euro per 1 meter boat length, per day. With your boat you can easily access
any island and lonesome beaches with crystal clear water within minutes!
In Liznjan you will find 3 supermarkets (daily with fresh bread), a butcher's shop, and
3 restaurants. 12 km away, in Pula, there is a daily market with rich offers of vegetables,
fruits, and fish. Also in Pula, there are larger supermarkets which offer a wide variety of
international products.
Because of its various landscapes, Istria gives the possibility of numerous excursions.
Besides the picturesque villages along the coast, the interior of Istria offers dense forrest on karstal
mountainious landscapes. These mountains tend to flatten slowly towards the western coast and fall
abruptly into the water at the eastern coast of Istria.
Istria offers many historical and vacation destination. Pula, an old Roman city with the 6th
largest and well-maintained arena, Hum, a medieval town which is officially the smallest town in the
world, Dvigrad and Motovun are among some of the historical sites in this land. Popular vacation

The Islands of Brioni (once a summer residence to the President of Yugoslavia), Cres and Losinj
